Kagbeni is an ancient mountain village in the Mustang area of the Himalayas Nepal, gateway to Upper Mustang & the main hub for Annapurna Circuit. Its traditional farming practices, authentic culture and history, traditions, rituals and heritage are among the oldest in Nepal.
Kagbeni is resting between two holy rivers: Kaligandaki and Muktinath Khola & considered a holy site by both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. Kagbeni Gompa (monastery) is as old as human civilization which date back to the 14th century. Kagbeni fortress (a ruin now) believes to be built in around 1500 AD.
